Nas’ ‘The Don’ is one of the star attractions for the second year of The Secret 7 initiative. Other tracks this year include Elton John - Bennie & The Jets, HAIM - Better Off, Jessie Ware - Still Love Me, Laura Marling - The Beast, Nick Drake - Rider On The Wheel & Public Enemy - Harder Than You Think.
On January 7th 2013, with the support of Talenthouse, the opportunity to design a sleeve was opened up worldwide to contemporary artists and designers to create their own visual interpretation of the seven tracks.
All 700 one-of-a-kind vinyl covers will feature in the London gallery space of the UK’s largest independent creative agency, Mother, in April 2013. The limited edition vinyl pressings are being pressed in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory. Record Store Day - 20th April 2013 - visitors are able to take a bit of the exhibition away with them as all of the unique vinyl sleeves will be available to purchase. However, none of the buyers will know who created the sleeve, or even which song it's for, until they have parted with their cash - the secret lies within.
This year every penny profited is going to youth charity ART AGAINST KNIVES, to help fund creative initiatives around London.
